This branch of General Motors had a number of divisions within the company that were involved in the development, research and testing of vehicles and alternative fuels. The creation of this branch of General Motors was a result of the merger between AMC and another automaker. The new company was named Chrysler. With the merger, Chrysler became the owner of a large inventory of diesel engines. Instead of letting the inventory sit idle, a group of engineers and scientists were formed to put the diesel engines to work. The result was the development of the CHRYSLER MicroPOD II. After the first MicroPOD was released in 1996, it quickly became the premier PTT/DTM control system for all Chrysler vehicles. The MicroPOD now comes standard on all vehicles sold by the company. Soon after the MicroPOD II's release, the first units began shipping with the wiTECH VCI software. When I received my wiTECH software v17.04.27 from AutoTech, it was for my 200 2016, of course.
