The tool comes packaged as an.iso file, which allows them to mount it on a system in order to investigate it. Thanks to cloud-syncing integration, the forensic data can be stored on the cloud: solutions from Google, Azure, and Amazon are supported, but storing locally on a USB, for example on a Windows system will also work, too. As this is an.iso file, creating a bootable USB disk is the way to use this. You can do so through Rufus without a worry, and after that, you'll be able to insert the USB stick into a machine that you want the forensic data of. The bootable disk will be recognized by the computer, and you'll boot up into the interface right away. It's best to select booting into the GUI. Thereafter, navigate to CadoImager, and enter your settings. You'll have to select the disk you want to image, then the upload destination. If you want to upload to the cloud, you'll need to create secure credentials for the service you're using. Tweaking the way in which data is processed is also an option. You can compress it, show detailed logging, as well as generate MD5 and SHA256 hashes. Case and evidence identifiers can be added as optional details, in order to provide more about the imaging. The acquisition will then proceed, and you'll be able to view the data after completion. Either from your local storage, or the cloud service of your choosing. Main Features • Enhance your forensic work. Manage and work efficiently on forensic data. • Speed up your workflow. Automatically convert and save your data. • Ready to use on Windows. Install Cado Live on your Windows PC. • Real time view. Browse forensic data using CadoImager. We've tried to be as transparent as possible. In this format, the software can be used in two ways: either as an external drive capable of image-based forensics, or as a virtual machine operating system capable of running forensics-based processing. A bootable image can be created from the iso file, and it can be used to boot either a computer as a live CD, or as a virtual machine. When opened, CadoLive will ask for the user's image-based forensic software options, for example, ImageMagick or Gendex. This can be used to allow additional processing on the image data that is provided. The available image forensics hardware can be selected. In addition to the options for CPU support and RAM, the user can also select options for graphics support. This includes the available HDMI port, DVI port, or VGA port. When the user chooses to process the files, the available encryption protocols will be shown, which can be encrypted before the image is taken. If the user chooses an encrypted media volume, then it will be decrypted on the fly. CadoLive will provide additional settings to the processor, if it is capable of a higher rate. It can also be set up to have logging enabled for the user to access after acquisition is completed. As the image can be located either locally on the hard disk, or remotely on a cloud storage service, the user can select the files to be acquired. The image data can be chosen to be stored locally or remotely. The data that is uploaded can be compressed, and the user can choose the MD5 and SHA256 hashes of the image. Images can also have designated case and evidence identifiers provided. Information can also be added that will show up in the log, and make it easier for the analyst to choose the correct file. Cado Live Highlights: - Acquires images from the storage device or a cloud service - Allows the user to select the encryption protocols to be used - Supports data compression - Allows the user to log the data taken by the tool - Offers encryption of the data during image taking - Allows the user to have MD5 and SHA256 hashes of the data taken - Allows the user to have specific case and evidence information to differentiate the files - Includes information that will make it easier for the analyst to choose the correct files - Allows for a remote location to be chosen for uploading of data - Allows for a local location to System Requirements For Cado Live: Important: This product has been designed for use by users with a PC running Windows Vista or Windows XP.
